Cheryl Harvey-Hill Gone But Never Forgotten
Cheryl Harvey Hill: Gone But Not Forgotten
By: George Penden, Sr. Journalist
Cheryl will never be forgotten. It was long over a decade
ago I first had dealings with Cheryl. I remember out of the blue she wrote remember out of the blue she wrote to me. She was writing for a country music blog, and she asked me to join her. She read and heard something in my words and she reached out, that was her style. That will be her legacy. She was always helping people. She saw potential and she encouraged it with interest, and soft corrections along with ideas toward improvement. Over our many Skypes, our countless emails, and in later times our visits Cheryl was always the same -- giving, kind, funny and interested, she was also generous. I remember when we first met her in
Vegas. At her instruction, we arrived with no where to stay. Unknown to us, Cheryl had arranged complimentary nights for us to stay at the newest of casinos, The M. it was a gesture never forgotten. But it was only one of many over the years, she shared ideas, suggestions, music and all along the way she shared herself. She was inspirational. She guided me in so many ways and now she is gone.
A life well lived and in the service of others is my best description of her. How do you thank such a person? Where do you find the words to pay the proper homage? I can’t. But the one thing I know.
Cheryl will never be forgotten. Never

Cheryl Harvey Hill was more than just a friend to me she was my mentor in writing, she was my OM (other Mother) for over 25 years. I respected her for the person she was which was nothing less than wonderful. She always gave me advice about my writing career and life. She was always so kind and giving to others. Not a day went by that she wasn't a positive and up-lifting person to those around her, always lending a hand and ready to help anyone she met. I am honored and so blessed to have had her in my life. I'm going to miss her sweet, beautiful voice singing to me over the phone, our late nights working on NAC, eating salt and vinegar chips and reminiscing about our first trip to fan fair in the 90's. We would laugh for hours, I know without a doubt she loved me and she knew how much I loved her. She was a blessing not only to me but those she came in contact with. I am going to miss you so and our Sunday night calls Om, it's never goodbye. I love you OM!
